Dr. Benjamin Miele
Biography
Dr. Miele received his B.A. from Colorado College in Classics and English and his Ph.D. from the University of Iowa in English literature. At the University of the Incarnate Word, he is Associate Professor of English, director of UIW’s interdisciplinary program in Sustainability Studies, Chair of the university’s Sustainability Advisory Board, faculty liaison for UIW’s student environmental group UIW Sustain, and supervisor for the UIW Community Gardens. He teaches and studies early modern British literature and culture, the environmental Humanities, surveillance studies, sustainability studies, environmental justice, and the circular economy. Dr. Miele has been awarded an EBSCO industries solar grant, a City of San Antonio Community Change Grant, and an E. Kika de la Garza Fellowship from USDA. |
